Danville Concours D'Elegance 2014

This year I was fortunate enough to find out about and join a Concours in Danville, CA which was created to help raise money to fight Parkinson's disease.  http://www.danville-delegance.org/  The show happens every September and this was the 10th year to help raise money for the Michael J. Fox foundation.  The event consists of a Saturday drive to Napa and an evening Dinner, both of which I missed due to late registration.  There is also the Sunday show/concours event which I signed up for and brought the Cayman to.

As you might expect for Danville, the event had some seriously nice cars, ranging from muscles cars, to exotics, to race cars, and rare classics.  At noon the special race cars drive in down the entire length of Hartz Avenue which is closed down for the show and then park.  It's extremely loud.  :)

Here are some pictures of the cars (and many dogs at the event.. hehe).  A handfull of gratuitous shots of the Porsche will have to be excused as it was my first concours.  I didn't expect to win based on the fact I already have 10,000+ miles and it has some wear.  That said, one of the judges told me my car showed well but was too new.  He told me I would have placed pretty high though, maybe even third. (they only give award for 1st place).  The owner next to me told me the judges kept checking out my car, and the black 993 Porsche which won in the end, so it must have been decent.  After three weekends of prep that made me happy at least.  (Yes I literally washed my car for a month)  Though reality is there were a lot of really great P-Cars that probably deserved it way more than me..heh.
